california bay area outdoor winter housing advise

so Oliver enjoyed the summer months as it got rather warm here in the Cali bay area. he lives in his thick plexiglass shed that has a 4x6 heat mat and a ceramic heating element that is on 24/7 . he also has coco coir in the side as a substrate. I have a thermometer taking the ambient temperature at 70f that is placed closer to his door wich is plastic sheeting flaps. what do you suggest I can do to keep him warm through these next cold months as it often gets as cold at 40f.

Here is what I do. We have night temps in the 30s regularly all winter long and sometimes down into the 20s. I set my boxes to 86 in winter since the days don't always get warm enough in winter.
