Hi, this is a fairly simple question. I have a little redfoot about 3-4 months old. I run a 40 watt che in a semi-closed tortoise table 24/7 right now but I feel like this is going a little overboard. currently the temperature in the enclosure is at a steady 84-85 the entire time, and I was wondering if I could turn the CHE off at night to save some energy. My room temperature is a flat 79 degrees celsius all the time as well. Is turning off the CHE at night okay? thanks!

I'd never feel confident turning off a heat source in a moist/humid environment, so no.

However, to become more energy efficient, you should run your CHE on a thermostat. This will allow your CHE to click on and off to maintain the desired temperature.
By going a step further and using a closed chamber, you'll be even more efficient. My CHE hardly ever clicks on and when it does, it isn't on for long.

I have a thermostat for the CHE, it's just that the temperatuers never go above 84-85 even if I have it on 24/7
