    It isn’t California poppy; those have very smooth, silky petals. I think it’s something in the Oriental poppy family.

    My Russian would eat a little of this in her native diet, so I’d offer it. But Oriental poppy varietels are usually reported as a DO NOT FEED. If you are a new owner, or not comfortable in the garden, I suggest skipping it entirely.

    The other one I don’t know; hopefully someone else will.

    It looks plaintain to me as well! But I see so few of them, I’m not qualified to make an ID. :(

    No not plantain I think. Look at the lines on the leaves. "Smalle weegbree".

    That is if plantain is the same as weegbree. You have "smalle weegbree" and "brede weegbree".

    Not plantain on the second plant - the veins converge to the leaf spine, they do not run parallel.
