I want to add some more variety to my redfoot's diet. She's ~ 5 months old. I was wondering if its safe to give her canned/dried foods over fresh. Are the preservatives. etc bad for them? For example:

Jarred grape leaves: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001KW8JF0/?tag=exoticpetnetw-20

Dried Hibiscus flowers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CRXFKSO/?tag=exoticpetnetw-20

I'm also curious what vegetables and fruits you guys would recommend. There's not much variety at my local grocery store. For the most part I feed mine spring mix and mazuri tortoise diet. I fed her boiled eggs for the first time this week for protein. (I've had her for about three weeks now)Thanks!

I rehydrate dried hibiscus flowers for all of my tortoises; they all love them.

For my redfoot and my MEP, I also feed an omnivore mix once a week or so... they gobble it right up.

Zilla also makes a fruit mix, a veggie mix, and a fruit/veggie mix... all of the stuff seems high quality and my beasts eat it without hesitation... I rehydrate them with a bit of warm water.

Thanks Jamie! I just added some to my amazon cart. I like to get her fresh foods, but since she's so small it goes bad far sooner than she can eat it.

I give my tortoise those hibiscus leaves sprinkled on his food. He loves them and goes for them first.

Take a look at what Kapidolo Farms has to offer in the way of dried tortoise food. He's on Mewe and Facebook

You're in Texas?
There must be dozens if not hundreds of food options for your Redfoot locally.
Redfoot can eat a very large variety of foods. More than any other species that I'm aware of.
Why not just feed fresh?

I do give her fresh spring mix. And I just picked up some mango. I just was wondering about some dried foods for cost effectiveness and to mix up her diet a bit more

I meant growing locally.
Maybe even growing in your yard or nearby.
Grocery store SPRING MIX isn't a good base diet.

The spring mix I get is from the local market street (sort of a whole foods). I do get the kind that is "locally sourced" and organic. But I beleive theres a farmers market near my parents house every Saturday. I'll start there

I can't provide you with our Redfoot foods list because I'm on my phone and having difficulty with my vision.
I think you'll be very happy to see just how many things your Redfoot can eat. We that keep Redfoot have it easy in that respect.
Just mix it up. No need to feed anything the same every day.
For example, mushrooms, flowers, boiled egg, Romaine, strawberry and blackberries are what my group had this morning.
All easily obtained.
