Hi All

Hi All
I have just noticed my tortoise has some damage to her carapace (costal scutes pix attached). I’ve had her for almost 1.5months and looking at the pictures when I first picked her the damage was already there. Is this something I should worry about?
I have also attached pix of her plastron and carapace and was wondering if you think apart from that one damage both are in good condition? She is one year old ?

The white patches on the plastron look like they could be shell rot- which simple athletes foot creme will cure (Dollar tree or Walmart) don't need a name brand. just rubb a little on each spot for about a week. The mark on the carapace could have been cause by your tort squeezing into a tigt spot like they love doing and scraped it. I woould just keep an eye on it. BTW what are the following
1. Temps in enclosure- end to end, basking, daytime, and nighttime
2. Size of enclosure (Photos Please)
3. Substrate
4. UVB lamp
5. Heat Lamps/producers
6. Plant bulb or regular light for daylight
7. What do you feed
8. Remind yourself you are an excellent Tortoise Owner!

Hi
Thanks so much for your feedback.
I’ve had some Canesten cream at home so hope I can use that?
I have attached a lot of pix for you to see.
I have a UVB and Basking lamp. As I work shifts the lights go on in the morning at 5am and she has to get up as she gets soaked for 30min. The UVB lamp stays on all day till 7pm. The basking lamp goes off at 8am, comes back on at 4pm and goes off at 7pm. For this period of time I have also a heating mat underneath the tub as on pix. At night everything is turned off and the temperature currently goes down to about 17-20C.
There are four different temperatures in Evo’s enclosure:
- Basking area near stones 31-35C and humidity around 25%
- Eating area 23-25C and humidity around 55-65%
- Tupper ware hide 24-26C and humidity around 90-99%, goes down throughout the day
- Bark hide 24-26C and humidity 90-95% , this stays solid as bark is wet. This is where Evo sleeps every night. When I get her out in the morning she feels cool.

The substrate is coconut coir and the enclosure is 75cm x 50cm. I spray it every morning.
She has been eating Meclun salad as this is what she was eating at the breeder. I also occasionally give her Kale, Courgettes, Carrots and Cucumber.
She gets vitamin D3 and calcium.
As a treat she gets a little amount of corn, which she loves above anything else.
I have given her hibiscus flowers but she is not to keen on them just takes a bite or two.

Looks great. The only comment I would make is that your substrate in the last few pix looks pretty dry. That said, your humidity levels all look good AND they are taken at tort level. Perfect ?

Thank you.
I spray the substrate down every morning and the hiding areas are moist. Is the food all OK?

If it gets too dusty for you covering it with Fine Fir Bark looks nicer and is really good. Otherwise the coco choir will make you readily remind you it needs to have water added. Also when ever you add water make sure it is warm water as this allows for better humidity control.
