I eventually want to add a redfoot or two to our zoo but don't know the care required. Is there a good care sheet like toms for the sulcata and leopards? I know they need humidity but not too much moisture. How long do they need to be indoors? Can adults safely live outdoors in California? Do these live more communally? I did go to a breeders house who had multiple breeds including several redfoots wandering her tort haven yard. They all seemed to be healthy and happy but wanted to see what others thought.

I would start by looking under forum ( on this site), then under South American Tortoise, the. redfoot.
There are articles at the top that will start you.
You can type, under " search" Redfoot Care.
There is a ton of info on this site.

Smart you, to research first!

The tortoise has info for redfoots, but not enough. You have to do research or get some suggestions.

Does 15 years raising .. 8 years hatching .. 2 years second generation ( F2 ) hatchlings from following caresheet .. plus 5 year chronological pic results you can expect.. qualify?

From out of the egg to almost 5 years care -

Yeppers, nuff said. :D That place is just packed with such a wealth of information, I would think of it as a first stop and then no need to go further. :D Mark did such an awesome job with it.

... and your will really enjoy the colorful redfoots or cherryheads when you do get them. :)
