Hi All:

I live in Merced and these weeds grow all over the side of the roads.

Anyone know what it is?

And...are they good for Sulcatas to eat?

I'm not sure if you're being serious. But I'll answer it anyway. That's a sunflower and I've heard some parts are edible. I don't know 100%

This is a photo of a plant called Black eyed Susan. It is toxic to cattle, however tortoises can tolerate eating some according to the Tortoise Table...but do not feed it as a rule to tortoises. Google the name Black eyed Susan and it will show you photos including possibly an orange variety. This yellow and black kind I see frequently along roadsides and open areas here in S. CA.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I was being serious. :)

Sounds like not a good snack for Ed Jones.
