Where do you buy your Mazuri? Any good deals? I have tortoise seed mix in the process of growing but also wanted to feed my hatchlings Mazuri once a week. I hear mixed reviews so any info is needed, good or bad.

Our little tykes eats about 1-2 pieces in 2 days . Soo with the amount that we have currently.. it can double up as substrate and still have plenty left over!! hahaha
But at least you're lucky it's widely available in the US. The authorised resellers closest to us in Malaysia is Singapore.. so we have to actually make our trips to another country (it's about a 4 hours drive) to get our stock. Luckily the reseller there was kind enough to offer us distributorship of Mazuri.. so we're trying to work something out to get it in cheaper for Malaysian torts. But it's still SUPER expensive as we have to ship it in from the US.
Perhaps you can share the cost of a 25lbs bag with some of your neighbourhood torts to save more money.
or you can have a dozen or so Giant Torts Like ALdabramanand have bags in his store!
Dagashi said:yeap! that's the best way to go. Just divide it between yourselves. it's much cheaper that way and you get fresher mazuri. (ALthough not common, Mazuri may have bugs and stuff after a year and it is recommended that the best before date is 1 year after manufacture). but if you freeze it or refridgerate it it'll last longer.

Thanks for the tip! I will remember to freeze it as I was looking for the big bags but I don't think I will need it with 2 little hatchlings...maybe I will look for a smaller bag if they carry one.
MORTYtheTORTY said:Does anyone know why people don't recommend this to your torts? I asked a supplier if they carried Mazuri and they said they would not recommend feeding that to the torts? Is it because the ingredients? I read the ingredients and it is def not all natural...can anyone explain the pros and cons, any info is greatly appreciated! THANKS ALL =)
