Yesterday was a nice day in Southern Cal. The sun was warm and the air temp got just above 60*F. Chuck came out of his box about 10am just to check things out.

Soon afterward he found his favorite sunning spot.

Once warm enough he checks out his garden for a snack.

Along the way he finds a defenseless dandelion flower.

He got really excited to find the mallow is growing again.

On the way back to his house he finds some cuttle bone.

What a day.

Nice. Is that Tyler's Testudo mix growing there in Chuck's garden?

What a great looking Sulcata. How old is he and how much does he weigh? You've done a nice job in raising him...

Some of it is. The rest of it is from seeds I got at Carolina Pet Supply. Mainly their plantain seeds.

Thanks, Maggie. Chuck is about 34 months old now. He is 14" long, 11" wide, and weighs 19 lbs. This is his first winter outside and he is learning to adapt to it.

Wow I like the color. It's like he's having a color phase. Nice sulcata!

He is definitely up there with one of the great looking sulcatas I've ever seen. I love the last picture with that messy face! Looking forward to seeing more pictures of him. He looks much larger than the stats you mentioned. Deceiving pictures.

I had to come back and look again Joe. I just love the success stories and Chuck just looks so fantastic. I love the leg spikes and the high dome. He's a good lookin' boy.

Thanks Tom. The pictures are definitely from his "good side". His back side slopes like most "regular" sulcata. I have to say thanks again, because if I had not found this forum, and your thread on "How to raise hatchlings and babies", Chuck would not be as healthy or good looking as he is. Two years ago, when I first became Chuck's keeper, he weighed 105 grams (he was 10 months old), had pinworms, and was suffering from an Upper Respiratory Infection. He had been kept dry and had started to pyramid. With help from you, Yvonne, Maggie, and other Forum members these problems all got straightened out.

Thank you. That is very kind. The pictures are taken at Chuck's level and without a person or another familar object there just isn't a good frame of reference.
