So we go to my granddaughters 13th birthday yesterday and because my daughter wants her Hdcp husband Doug to try them out, we take one of the foldable ebikes.

We get there and after a while I'm talking with my son who of course is in attendance. "Dad, Mom isn't really going to get on that bike is she? Kerry knows better, right?"

We look out towards the road where Kerry is showing Peg the ebikes.

This is a screenshot of the vid. In front of the car, Kerry is showing Peg the controls. It was for naught. Thank God I ended the vid before she took off. She didn't make it 2 feet and fell. Bleeding little finger was the cost.

Was Kerry done? Oh no, I have a son in law with cerable paulsy ....yup, Doug went out to try them. He got going alright and made several times around the block. Unfortunately he didn't say he needed help as he rolled to a stop 3 feet from me. He couldn't get his feet down in time and I watched him fall over. He cut his calf. I kinda felt like a D but I don't humiliate handicapped folks by helping them when they aren't asking for help.

At that point I suggested that Kerry put the bike away as a 20% casulty rate of attendees is not sustainable....lol

Had a good time at the ballgame. Tigers were leading the whole game. In the ninth inning, the Tigers pitcher gave up a 3 run homerun. Tigers lost 3 to 2.

Yes, supposedly. I still have this one in a medium sized pot so i can ensure water & shade/sun. I see another bloom this morning.

We did some pickling of the crops that we manage to keep growing. Cucumbers, onions & peppers. Decided to not grow tomatoes this year.

I like doing chopped cukes too. Fresh with slivered onions and chopped tomatoes. All with a hot vinegar dressing. Especially in the growing season.

It is horrible what we are doing to this planet in all aspects. I try not to get myself all stressed out about where this world is headed. But it's hard not to worry what this world will be for generations to come.

I get very angry and wound up about people who just don't seem to care. Sometimes it feels like those of us who do are fighting a losing battle and I get very down in the dumps.

No worries for are house. We are still in Michigan. If we were to get hit by a hurricane. Since we are not home. My brother would come over and close all the shutters for us. We have the accordian type shutters. So it is easy and quick to button up the house.

I hope the house is safe. Is Opo indoors?

Good afternoon/evening all.
It's been a grey and sometimes drizzly day today but so warm. It felt like we needed a good thunderstorm. Lola didn't venture out at all.
At the moment it's pouring down but no thunder. I hope my hedgehogs are sheltering somewhere safe.
I have a posh new hedgehog house for one of the lucky torts, maybe two of them but they don't usually share nests. It's called a Hogilo. I do have an old one I'm doing some repairs on in case one of the other two decide to move in.
I hope you're all having a good Monday, but mine is almost at an end so I'll bid you nos da for now. Take care.

No actually Opo slept right here last night. He was in that spot for around 24hrs. 12 noon to 12 noon. Opo had my neighbor worried. He thought Opo was sick.

We got rain and some wind. Nothing real crazy though. When large storms come near and the barometric pressure drops. Opo will shutdown and usually stay in his box. Don't know why he didn't go in his box this time.

Kerry took her dad golfing this morning so I ate 4 Tylenol and snuck the little car out for a ride...had to wash it first right? Heck of a ride but I'm going to pay in pain..LOL

Happy Tuesday!
After a wet night, it was a warm and breezy day. I had a walk to find some nice dandies for Lola - I can't use the ones near my home because of the oil contamination in the lane, so had to go further afield.

He wouldn't go out again today even though it was sunny, and he wouldn't stay out when I put him out, so I don't know what's gotten into him. Hopefully he'll snap out of it soon.
I've been enjoying the Olympics in between chores, some of those athletes are super human!

I hope you're all having a good day, time for me to check on my hedgehogs now so TTFN

i seemed to have fallen on the cure for my shoulder issue. First, Tylenol worked where Motrin or Aleve do not. This indicates damage, not inflammation. Given that superman heals at an incredible rate, I figured I was good to go, just tight.
Washing the little car nearly killed me...it really did. I haven't been able to look upwards or sideways in 2 weeks...its that tight/sore so those door panels and fenders sucked....but the roof was easy.
Somehow I got the car clean( no wheels, that was a bridge too far) and went out for a drive.
Then I came home and prayed the oncoming pain wouldn't be too bad. I knew the cost and was willing to pay it for some fun but I wasn't looking forward to it! LOL

It never came! How's about them apples?

I was THIS close to calling the Needle Doctor on Monday. I hate Drs so this is cool!
Apparently I just needed to pull myself apart and stretch out! 99% of the "sledgehammers" to the arm are gone this morning!

Dad beat Kerry at golf. Kerry is a "scratch golfer", whatever that means. Dad is 94 years old. This is humbling, even for superman.

First player I ever saw hit a baseball in person was Al Kaline.....in 1963 at Tiger stadium in Detroit, past the Uniroyal tire where Uncle Don worked.

Al Kaline was a great player. I remember when he hit a homerun during the 68 world series. Kinda unusual for a pitcher to do that. To show you the kind of money they made compared to today. Al Kaline had enough money to open his own donut shop. He would have made millions now.
