compost/sand?

can you mix compost with sand for substrte? has any one did this how does it look?

Actually compost is ok.
I use it. and my tortoises are fine.

aslong as its organic, no stones, no chemicals, no fertilizers, no pesticides and no other things.
John Innes Compost is very good! and its known as ok to be used.

Yes John Innes is fine as long as its the SEED one.Although,i have been told,that there are a few additives with it,theres not enough to cause harm.
