Correct bedding for hideaway

Can I use Aspen Straw, seaweed moss or spagmoss as bedding for Evo’s hideaway at night?
If none of the above is suitable what would your recommendations be?

I just use the fine grade orchid (fir) bark for the whole enclosure, hideaway included.

Me too.

Orchid bark or coconut coir or mix of both.
The moss like you posted can be eaten and cause internal problems and have also gotten tangled around necks and legs causing problems.
The Aspen is too dry and unnatural.

One more vote for using the same substrate in the hide that you use in the rest of the enclosure. No moss. No aspen. No seaweed.

No
Mixed with Orchid bark is ok.
Straight bark is better.
You can spot clean by just removing the nasty spots....for months.

No. Not good. Potting soil has all sorts of potentially hazardous additives. Also, there is no way to know what composted yard waste the soil is composed of. Could be something toxic. The makers of soil don't intend for live animals to be living on it or in it in a closed enclosure.
