Here are some current photos of my 2 Redfoot Hybrids, and 2 cherryheads. I didn't spray them off before (woops) so they are a little bit dusty.

**Also, Any comments on the last photo which shows what appears to be "dry" or Flaky head peeling? I know that they do shed at different times, but I haven't really seen this sort of look before.

#1- This is more of my Orange colored Cherryhead. The sun dilutes some of their true colors, and I should've sprayed them off first..Next time I will

#2- This is a much more red colored Cherryhead. Also notice the marbling taking place!

#3- This is the larger of the redfoot/hybrids. Not very photogenic today.

#4- The somewhat smaller redfoot/hybrid (due to previous sickness).

Finally, any thoughts on the look of these head scales? Just look very dry and flaky, but with a touch of something different that I am not used to seeing. This is the redder cherryhead.

Thanks for looking!!

Thanks!

These all range from 175g-225g and are 3-3.5 inches SCL.

Anyone ever see that sort of head flaky scaling or coloring around the scales??

Very nice! You said your redfoots are hybrids, are they cherries and regulars mated?

Interesting! The only other person I know of who has one of those is Nick (Boah).

That doesn't look pardalis x carbonaria, there are coloured pics of some 4 year old hybrids of these on shelled warriors and reposted by Baoh on the tortoise board.

Thanks JD and everyone else!!

I'm not really sure what to say regarding the Hybrid...The breeder says they most likely are a cross between Redfoot and Leopard. These pictures aren't that great, but I have posted others here that show they really are quite distinct in coloring and appearance.

Folks have seemed to want one or both after seeing previous pictures and discussing their lineage.

Honestly, I was hoping they weren't as I would rather prefer them to stay the typical redfoot size and not get as large as a leopard can get.

Time will tell, and these are still super young compared to the 4 year old pictures.

Here are some older pictures I have previously posted of the 2 torts in question.

Like I said, we enjoy them regardless!!

As far as I know about Redfoot X Leopards, you look like you do have one. These are the "newest" hybrids I've come across.

My speculations are just based on what I've read and have seen throughout on other forums. Another member here also has one almost identical. Here are the links if you'd like to do some research about these hybrids. http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=67842 http://tortoiseforum.org/thread-72409.html

Nice looking torts. Sorry, but I don't see the scaling you're talking about; untrained eyes. ;)

Interesting ...the Uk thread I can see the blend of characteristics’ , not the TF thread. I wasn't aware of anyone breeding these in the USA, and if so they sure have kept it under wraps. So Mizz who produced these gems ... ? Thanks SULDUD' for the info ,
I have seen a Redfoot x Radi Cross .....
and back in the days ....here were my own Hybrid Leo's
aka: " Lepracuttas" Sullie x Leo
