I would feed everything but the roots. My tortoise likes the flowers stems and leaves. I have never fed the roots. I usually try to preserve those so the plants can keep growing and make more.

If my tortoise gets them several days in a row, he doesn't want to eat anything else.

And here comes the age old question..... Let the dandelions continue to grow and multiply for my tortoise or get rid of them before they begin a total yard takeover? :p

Don't get rid of them. They are such a great source of food. You'll find that they don't so spread much if you're picking all the flowers before they go to seed.

As the others said, not the roots, but feed flowers and leaves.

I’ve read that my torties would like Dandelion leaves – what about stems and flowers? Roots?

I would let the tortoise eat as much as they want....flowers especially. I mean, I don't blame them for wanting to consume a bunch...

Good for you and good tasting....lol....I would let the plant take over a generous part of the yard....you can also drop in clover seeds and grass seeds....you may be able to get a good mix going....
