I just picked up my tortoise from being boarded at an exotic pet vet and he looks dehydrated to me. Any opinions?20221007_155416.jpg

The way I tell is by the eyes. I can't see them well enough to see if they're sunken in.

How long was it at the exotic vet? I’m sure a good soaks & all will be good. Looks dry, not sure about being dehydrated.

Welcome to the club KK!

I'm sure that a couple weeks ago, folks were scrambling to find sanctuaries for their guys as the storm approached.....maybe he didn't get the best care but he and all the others they cared for, were probably safe.......and like the real talents noted, he prob just needs a good soak....

Well, his skin looks dry. I don't think that means he's dehydrated though.

I deal with this periodically in my leopard tortoise. I do one of two things. Either rub him down with a bit of coconut oil or use a spray bottle filled with a mixture of water/olive oil. Not a lot of olive oil, but just a bit. I call it turtle lotion LOL
I'll oil his shell, sure but the spray helps me get his neck skin and legs. Give it a try. :)
