I knocked this together for my juvenile Eastern Hermanns.

Its approx 2.5m long and 1.3wide.

He will stay in his dirt viv at night and if we are out during the day but it must be better than his 3ft viv.

Whatcha think? Comments and improvement tips are welcome.

I think he looks happy :)

Good size space. Aren't you worried about your carpet?

Worried? What about??

Also carpet is getting replaced soon. I will get a base sorted when that happens.

But in the mea n time your ok with pee poop and dirt getting ground in? It'll go through to the sub floor too. I'd get a piece of plywood for under.

Yeah thats no problem the now, like I said the carpets getting replaced and I will be looking into getting a base laid out for it. But apart from flooring does it seem ok??

I try to provide my tortoises as "natural" a habitat as possible when they're inside. This includes plants and soil - or some sort of substrate they can burrow into. I agree the size is good.

Nice size. But I think your missin that the pee will to all the way to the plywood floor. They also won't be all that comfortable in there.

Yes. Put a piece of plywood under it, and line it with plastic. Then add some substrate (my preference is orchid bark) that they can burrow into. Also, you can moisten the substrate to simulate the moister earth when the tortoise digs down. You simply cannot do this with an open bottom sitting directly on the floor.

I will see if I can get a hold of the bark you are talking about.
