This summer my male 27 lb sully eats my backyard Bermuda all day. He doesn't even put a dent in it. Also, weeds, hibiscus leaves and flowers.

Will he eat it this winter when it goes dormant? Is that basically grass hay? I know he will have lots of broadleaf weeds to eat, just wondering about the dormant grass.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. I got Dudley when he was about 35lbs, and he is now about 110lbs. This whole time, he has subsisted on the Bermuda grass and whatever weeds grow in his pen. I don't feed him except for the occasional branch off the mullberry tree (which is dormant in the winter). When the grass is dormant, he still comes out every day and grazes the dead stuff, however, there is also a lot of winter weeds that sprout up in there. I think this is perfectly natural for them. The plants in Africa are also seasonal.
