I am trying to find out whether firespike (Odontonema strictum) or/ and mexican sunflower (Tithonia diversifolia) is safe to feed. I have a small group of redfoots and have offered a single leaf of each and it was gobbled up immediately. Just to test then I put a pink porter weed leaf down and she bit it and did not eat. There was a pink porter weed in the enclosure before and they ignored it. Before I use firespike and/or m.sunflower kinda wanted a little more input. Thanks

Did you ever find an answer? I know it’s safe to feed mex sunflower to livestock. So I let my torts eat it but not sure if it has a good calcium to phosphorus ratio and stuff like that. I am sure it won’t kill them I just don’t know how good it is for them.
