Does my russian tortoise's shell look okay?

Hi, I was wondering if anybody could tell me if the indents in each of the scutes on my tortoise's shell were normal? Thanks in advance!

Hello and Welcome. The dents I wouldn't say is normal, as in not every Russia. Has them. I have seen some pics of ones that have them though. I'm not sure what you causes them. Hopefully some one will know.

I don't know, he looks normal to me. Well nice rounded tort. Makes me want to get a russian tortoise =)

Did you get the tort from a pet store? If so it might be wild caught and that may have something to do with it.

I see a little redness in the dents on the scute in the middle of the top of the shell, second one back from the front. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like there may have been some sort of trauma there in the past. Just guessing.
