This female Chaco (named chica) has been driving me nuts the past few weeks digging holes. But this time I think we are good for go. It's nice and deep. Her legs (about 6" stretch)quite can't reach the bottom so hoping for some eggs tonight on this awesome 83 degree evening.image.jpg

Good luck and best wishes. All worth the long wait and frustration after she lays.

Then comes the big CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

That's exciting Kelly, especially because she's a Chaco...do you sell the offspring? I am interested in getting a Chaco, and I know some others that are too.

Maggie I sure will sell some of the offspring. These will take up to a year to incubate though. So the wait begins.

Ova number 2 is in the shoot. Takes her about 25-35 minutes between eggs. These are the 2nd largest egg I've seen, next to a Galapagos. Super cool. Been 8 years since I've had chacos that laid eggs, almost forgot how big they are.

A year to incubate??? Holy cow. But by that time I would have done my research and might even have enough money...:)

Yep they take a long time. Longest was 388 days. Have to diapause them and everything. They're super awesome though. I highly suggest them.

We'll she went to sleep over the nest. So I retrieved the one egg, and hope to the 2nd maybe more tomorrow. Damn was hoping she was ready for the second or 3rd egg. Also have female 2 (chikita) digging so more eggs from her.
