Oh no! I hope you find him! Better get out there on your hands and knees and look thoroughly. They really lodge themselves under things so try moving heavy objects even if you think there's no way he could squeeze himself under. Good luck!:(

Yep, crawling about is the best way to look for a missing tortoise.
Also he may have dug in somewhere so have a look for that.
If you still can't find him ask at local vets and pet rescue centres.
They can survive in the English spring if they find somewhere to dig in and bask in the morning to warm up.
Hope you get him back.
Sometimes they can be missing for months and then turn up again.
And build a secure outdoor enclosure.

FOUND HIM!!! Wow.. what a relief, we all really thought he was lost forever!
My neighbours all helped, and my friends and family.. took about an hour!
He had tucked himself over a flap of grass and gone to sleep.. silly billy!
Thank you all so much for your help!

Glad you found him. My russian gave me a similar scare the other day, but I found him under some tall grass. They blend in so well, but he was in his enclosure. Do you have enclosure built to put him in?
