I Have a RF tortoise and we have him in a 55 gallon terrarium with Cyprus mulch as the substrate and a 100w heat lamp. I am having a hard time getting/keeping the humidity above 20%. I'll pour water on the cyprus and its soaked in within 20 min. I need suggestions on how to get humidity up and what kind of plants I could put in his tank for him to use as shade or eat.

Covering the screen top with something like aluminum foil will help keep your humidity much higher.

Cover half or three quarters of the enclosure with something solid. If that still doesn't work, a lot of us pipe in a humidifier.

Thank you all! I covered almost all of the top and put a humidifier in the room. The tank is around 60% now much better than 20%. Do you know what plants that would be good to put in his enclosure it looks plain. Thanks again!
