Hi all,

I am seeking some advice on how to restore my Tortoise enclosure.

Built out of timber, and made to measure... I thought I had the perfect outside house.. until water got in and the WHOLE of the inside went mouldy.

I was close to having another built but after already spending £350 on the enclosure, I thought I should try to fix it !!

Inside and out of the enclosure has not been treated, so I need the safest products to use.

My question is, what can I use to remove the mould that is safe for the tortoises, I am based in the UK.

.. I want to prevent the mould from returning. This enclosure will now be placed in an insulated shed in my garden. So it will not to getting wet!! ( fingers crossed) but I NEEEEED it to be safe for my two.

Many thanks in advance.

Jade.

You can scrub it out with bleach water then let it air dry in the sun. When completely dry, paint the inside with safe paint.

That's completely safe?

I went to my local hardwear shop, and the lady was reluctant to sell me anything that may cause harm to the tortoises... which I thought was really good of her rather than just making cash.

I will do that and see what happens. Thank you.
