Eucalyptus as bug repellent

I have heard that eucalyptus is a good bug repellent but I also now it is toxic to torts. If I put it out of reach in my torts enclosure do you think it would work and would the odor coming off of the plant be toxic to them? It stays very hot and humid in the homes being a closed chamber enclosures...
Any thoughts?

it is a natural bug repellent but read what I wrote in StudenoftheReptiles thread...same title basically, look under "View new post" Gluck to both =)

Eucalyptus mulch is 100% safe for tortoises. I has been used by some very experienced keepers for years with NO issues.
