Hi!, I have just gotten a new bulb for my star tortoises, it has been hung on a distance of 12", 30 cm and the heat it produces by my thermometer is 40 degrees Celsius and equivalent to 104 Fahrenheit. Is it ok for my star tortoises to busk at that temperature? If so, how long do I need to leave the lamp on?

P.S, I have no 4 seasons @ the place I live, Only Rain and Sun. Average daily temperature is 28-32 Degree Celsius. Thanks.

I leave my UVB light on all day (14 hours), but some people only use them for a couple hours during the middle of the day. If you decide to do that, then you'll need another light to provide light and heat for the rest of the day.
