If you’re into turtles you’re going to love this super rare Geoemyda Japonica Japanese postcard. I got this card about 10 years ago from an antique seller located in Japan. The stamp first issue was 1976.
The postcard has a ‘gold’ metallic plate stamped with the turtle and name of the species. There are other postcards similar to this that come up from time to time but never with the metal inlay, just a printed picture. The postcard and included paper inside are in fantastic condition. I have never seen another one like it.
When this postcard was issued Geoemyda Japonica was still considered a subspecies of Geoemyda Spengleri. Any Turtle nerd like myself would love to have this on their collection.
I paid $250 for this card 10 years ago, not sure how much it would be worth today. Accepting reasonable offers.
Thanks.
