I've used Mazuri and Red Sticks, but my pets really like the Red Sticks best.

have you asked the place (feed store I assume) for a smaller size, my feed store near me sells it in 25 pound bags but when I inquired about a smaller size, they also said that they can order a 5 pound bag.DixieParadise said:I use ZooMed Forest and ZooMed Box Turtle mixed about 2 or 3 times a week. I don't find it anymore expensive than the Mazuri. I can't find smaller bags of Mazuri other than the 25 lbs from the feed store. Seems that other folks are finding the samething... I guess I could buy it from a member who is breaking down their 25 lb bag, but after including shipping, it is no less than the cost of my ZooMeds.

My little guys only seem to like wild flowers alive or dried or partially dried (in our humidity) and leaves like optunia, they wont touch Mazuri, even if I use to stuff mini tomatoes. They did the first time but I think it was because they didn't know but the second time they rolled the stuffed mini tomato round and ignored it and went to nipping the hay instead. For critters with no apparent taste buds this is very odd?
Problem is they love all the bad stuff like okra, avocado (incredible favorite) guava and tomatoes too. Anything red is directly nibbled so Im thinking red sticks here if I can find them.
I wish to be honest I dont know if they came from the South of India or otherwise. Does anyone know the difference in colour or subtle pattern if there is, the difference between Indian stars from the South or North cause mine definitely seem to rather like the lawn and fruit instead of any thing else? Both are extremely different places. They also love sun bathing. Too cute they extend all their limbs in different angles and drop them then close there eyes and bath.
Im of course spending fortunes on different grub. Anything i see and hasn't been trashed as unsuitable I will try, Im going to try lotus root tomorrow see how they loves it? its starchy but grows in the South of India and the North....so. I love it too.
