Oh gosh Terry (:)) it is high in all the wrong things Oops. Im getting mighty frustrated. Do you think Tah that proper sunshine will make up for all this crap? Proper unadulterated sun sunshine? They love and spread their little limbs at angles to it to get max exposure their eyes closed. I wonder if the complete secrete to healthy hatchlings tortoises isn't just plain constant unfiltered sunshine and natural humidity?

The South of India has all these things seasonally of course. So does the North but the dry is very different and much longer.

I love to hold the tortoises close to my tum where they settle down and stop wiggling their feets. I take them around the garden and beyond into the forest trying each flower and leaf, they only peck at some others they ignore. Its my favourite thing to do with them. All the while with my thumb I lightly stroke their shells and little heads busily looking left and right.

Theoretically, both seem to be...

Sunlight is VERY important!

I use ZooMed Forest and ZooMed Box Turtle mixed about 2 or 3 times a week. I don't find it anymore expensive than the Mazuri. I can't find smaller bags of Mazuri other than the 25 lbs from the feed store. Seems that other folks are finding the samething... I guess I could buy it from a member who is breaking down their 25 lb bag, but after including shipping, it is no less than the cost of my ZooMeds.
have you asked the place (feed store I assume) for a smaller size, my feed store near me sells it in 25 pound bags but when I inquired about a smaller size, they also said that they can order a 5 pound bag.

My Ace Hardware store carries it in 1# bags and said they can get it within 3 days when they order it.
