Chuck on the left is the bigger one just under 7in and Bruce is a little smaller 6in exact. And is the black markings normal I bought these guys off kijiji same as cregs list in the states.

Wish I could help, I am no good at sexing redfoots with out the obvious signs like the hour glass shape of concaved plastron...

looks like a lady to me.... all my boys even smaller than that have twice the tail... but then again a few inches later they seem to shock LOL

Hi Dkronic,

Left one is hard to tell, the right one is definitely a female.
Can you post another photo of the tort on the left, an upside down photo of the tortoise would help us identify its gender. About the black markings, they're perfectly normal.

2nd one female for sure ....first one hard to tell from angle of pic~ ....just my 2 cents~ :D
