He and his clutchmates were incubated at low 80's -

.. so hopefully he is my "NEW" breeder boy!!!

Here he is.. with a potential Female ( incubated @ 86 or so by my friend ) -

"She" is a beauty in my eyes -

And a profile from him -

My camera did not like the UVB these guys bask under - is why the colors/focus is off.. the flash couldn't decide what it wanted to do I guess.

They love O.S.I. shrimp pellets.. 1st ingredient is really SHRIMP!

They have incredible "crustacean-crunching" jaws.. for crunching shrimp/crabs/lobsters.. etc.!!!

They are Malaclemys terrapin centrata.. aka Concentric Diamondback Terrapin. They thrive in brackish waters along the East coast.. mainly the Carolinas [ where salt and fresh waters meet - salty fresh water  ]

There are a number of "sub-species" from the Chesapeake Bay to the Gulf of Texas.. with various color and pattern variations. I'll show a few if you like.

My favorite water turtle!!!

Weeeeellllllllll..... the two darkest ones hatched from my incubator - I expect hatchlings this summer late.

Read all about them here - http://turtletary.com/main.htm

Speaking of favorites. I was going through your photobucket. You have a top shell pic of a dbt labled as a diadem morph. By far easily a top 5 for me of the best looking dbts ive ever seen. It is just wow and only one pic of it!?

Hey 4Life.. are you talking about these?

I hard "first-right-of-refusal" of the above - which means a friend gave me an opportunity to buy them before he offered them to anyone else. I refused his offer - they are Ornate x Concentric.

Here's two others he created - I was not offered these.. I may have taken him up on these -

I do like that nose-pattern!

I always liked this female.. but she was mean and didn't get along with any of mine -

Yes. Absolutely beautiful! Amazing, stunning so many words to describe them. Im usually against interbreeding between subspecies but if it makes these. Id make an exception. Thank You for sharing these.

One of the most striking 'morphs' of a 'Macro' [ Ornate Diamondback ] from a former breeder friend of mine -

I think so anyway.. look at this carapace -

And how about these hatchling Texan's -

Back to these crazy "hybrids" -

And a couple of my 'Macro' hatchlings -
