Hi! When my tortoise was just a baby we bought her a hollowed-out half log. She has long since outgrown it, but I was wondering if I could maybe carve it out a little more and use it again? The only problem is how would I do that without causing sharp edges? Should I sand it down? Are there any alternatives to sanding?
Thank you!

Oh, alright, great! Just for curiosity's sake... Those babies (shown in the picture) won't attack each other?
In most tortoise species, you can let the babies live together in groups, not pairs, but groups, until they start getting closer to maturity. Sometimes you can get 3-4 years and other times they have to be divided up at 18 months.

Russians are one of the worst for fighting with each other as youngsters. I've successfully raised them together in groups of 6 or 8 with no problems, but it doesn't always go smoothly.
