If they really wanted him home, I would expect they can at least put the effort into checking their Facebook messages….Clearly, I am mistaken.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet. I believe Facebook messages from people outside of your friends list sometimes end up in a weird second inbox. I know I wasn't getting notifications of Facebook messages from non-friends for awhile. I don't know if this is still a thing (an article on it) but if it is, they might not even realize it

Well, I messaged him on Facebook, attempted to friend him on Facebook, and did the same to the 3 others that were tagged in his post.

Nothing.

Must not want the tortoise back very badly. It will be getting rehomed soon.

Owner messaged me!! I'm now trying to get him in touch with Pete. I've advised him to accept the friend request and message Pete asap. I've also suggested coming to the forum and trying to connect with him.
