Hi! My babies are all doing well but I noticed this on the side of one's mouth today (see photo). I've seen other threads discussing similar issues suggesting a cut/scab or an infection of some kind. Can anyone suggest what this might be, please? Tortoise is eating well (the largest of the brood), is active and apparently healthy in all other ways.
Thanks!

Hard to tell what it could be or caused from. I would try to clean it and then put a little antibiotic cream on it as long as you can do it with out it getting into his mouth

Hi, All, Update on this tortoise; vet has diagnosed mouth-rot and prescribed antibiotic solution to be vigorously applied twice a day with a cotton-bud. I will let you know how we progress.

I hate to try to second guess a vet who has been to school and learned his trade, and who has actually seen the tortoise in real life, whereas we only see a picture, but. . . mouth rot in a 4 month old tortoise? Not very likely.
