I'm actually going to be working with the bird nerds at the zoo but after my interview was successful I ran over to the reptile house to check out these guys (I have pics of an adult and some baby komodos too but my ipad died before I could upload everything so Ill update this tomorrow with more pics)

This little guy was front and center basking in the attention (...well that may have been his heat lamp ;) )

Awesome! Did they breed them or buy them? You gotta PM me with their source.

I haven't had a chance to talk to any of the reptile keepers about them yet but from the buz around town last year they bred them and the hatchlings were the ultimate naturally incubated surprise babies...reading the article I dont know if they were planning on natural incubation or just missed her nesting (could just be that they left the nest on purpose and were being dramatic about how unexpected they were)

They are on exhibit....boss lady told me that I could run around the zoo til closing after my interview/orientation if I wanted too (duh! :D) so I just saw them from the outside....hoping to make friends with some reptile keepers so can learn more about these guys.

That is a very exciting opportunity. They along with Zoo Atlanta were the first to reproduce cuora pani several years back. Any inside info you could share on them would be greatly appreciated.

Komodo dragons are the best. I worked with them for five years. They are by far the most intelligent reptile I have ever taken care of.
