Anyone use a green house as part of their outdoor sulcata or tortoise pen? I was thinking maybe using part of my shed say 8' x 4' as a hot box then have a green house then an outdoor pen thinking it might add an area for the torts to use in winter and can leave it open in summer

I use a green house for my yellows and cherries. I covered the floor with hardcloth and then put 6 inches of substrate over it. Then I made a little house inside with a pig blanket. They stay in there at night and on most days I just leave the door open so they can come out whenever they want. On really cold days I keep the door closed - although mine has a window I can open to vent it for in between times. Hope that was helpful. :)

A lot of people use green houses. They are great for winter but you need to watch the temps closely in summer so it does not over heat and bake your tort.
