Hello all. *LONG POST WARNING BUT BARE WITH ME. I got my red foot (my daughter's but I'm the real care taker of course) in December '22. Originally I had it in the pet store recommended set up; a small 10gallon tank but switched to a grow tent I used to keep tomatoes in (I live in an apartment). It's 2x2x4. That was spacy for him as he is still small around 4" tail to beak. About 3 days ago I decided to flip the tent on its side to make it longer/bigger so now it's 4x2. I found that by decreasing the height it holds humidity soooo much better it easily stays 70%-80% humidity now where as it was still a struggle before. I plan on getting a fogger as I had issues with the mister causing the bulb to break on the heat lamp. The uvb is tube and has the covering and was safe. But the heat bulb shattered while I was at work and I'm lucky that he hadnt come out so he was fine. I would also like to add a window if I can figure out how. I thought about pvc or plexiglass. I'm also going to add a slate area under the basking spot. Right now there is only a CHE but that keeps the enclosure at a nice 80 ish it was higher but has gone down over time (may be time to replace) so will be putting another heat bulb back in for basking I have the lamp still just no bulb in it. I had a small fan in for added air flow but will have to get a new one, in the mean time there are plenty of vent holes and I keep the zipper open a bit. I would also like to grow some grass and put it in around the perimeter and a few plants as well

Anyways I'm just wondering who else is using a grow tent and if so do you cover the shiny material with something? He has not shown any signs of stress due to the shine but it has been something I've thought about. I had put black duct tape but removed it because it smell like bacon lol and I thought maybe the fumes would make him sick. So now I only have it in 2 small spots to keep the material under the substrate that covers the vent hole in place.

I have used and recommend pop up greenhouses, same thing I would guess, many times. I did not cover and metal. I hung all my lights and heat inside. The ones I use and recommend come in different lengths and 3 feet wide. The ceiling is not so high on them that maintaining humidity wasn't a problem.
