Growth Rings....?

Let's talk about growth rings... They are on the carapace, and they represent months, years, growth?? Do the rules change with age/maturity?? What does the differing distances represent between growth rings??? How are the different than tree growth rings?? Are growth rings on all species of tort?? Who doesn't have them??

Growth rings can only tell you how many growth cycles and indiviual tort has gone thru. However a torts growth cycle is determined by many factors, weather, diet, surrounding area.... many things.
one thing we do know is you CAN NOT tell how old a tortoise is by its rings.

Do all Tortoise/Turtles have them? I dont know... I think they do but some arn't as prominate as others.
