I've had my 3-year old Hermann's, Elsa, for almost 2 months now. She's eaten very well from day one, but typically leaves several leaves of greens at the end of the day, and never eats the plants in her enclosure. She gained from 9.45 oz to 12.6 oz in the first month, so I was satisfied that she's getting what she needs. Suddenly this week, she is eating EVERY little scrap of food in her dish, and this morning I realized she'd eaten HALF of her Swedish ivy plant down to nubs in just a day or 2! Do torts go through sudden growth spurts like humans do?:p

I don't know if they usually do. However, that is the same my leopard will do. Sometimes eats everything put in front of him and then the next time, barely eats half of his food. I do think it is a common thing.

My Greek does the same also. Right now he's eating all his food in the morning, then he eats another leaf or two in the evening before bed. Then other times he will ignore his food completely... Maybe they are just moody? Haha.
