Had to call my internet provider today...

Okay so I have been watching my 14 year old nephew for the last week while his parents went camping... It was all fine and dandy until I went on my Xbox and realized what the little boy has been doing when I go to sleep.. needless to say I called my internet provider and had him disable pornography from my router completely... I had quite a start when I looked at my Xbox... [emoji1785] The guy I talked to had a good laugh while I explained.. I am upset with the boy.. I have 2 small children and i don't appreciate it.. anywho he's grounded from touching any electronics until he leaves my house. I'm flabergasted.. not sure if it's a boy thing or what but I hope my son doesn't do that crap when he's 14.. not allowed... Anyways have a fantastic day!! I have some chores to make up for the nephew !

Gosh I hope so.. it gave me a dang heartattack..I get it's a boy thing but isn't there a time and a place?.. lol. It's done and over with. I fixed the issue.

I'd be more concerned about a kid that NEVER exhibited any sort of interest in sexuality one way or another.
I'm sure he's embarrassed.
But that is not unusual.

Grr... I knew that was coming lol. I grew up with my grandma as my mother so I guess I have no idea what normal children do lol. I gardened and collected stamps [emoji23]

I suppose you're right. It would be concerning if he had no interest. I wish he would take to the magazines instead of using my personal electronics lol. I am sure he is embarrassed about it. Maybe next time he will be a little more secretive about it lol.

I think that porn is the water that many 14yo boys swim in, and the internet makes it free and easy and varied.

I know it's not your job, that you're not his mother, but I found an interesting TED talk that fueled some useful (if challenging) discussions with my own son and with some students who had questions that weren't being answered, or weren't being answered satisfactorily/accurately/usefully.

Thank you! Yes definitely was going to try to have a talk with him. His mother doesn't care. I told her and she laughed. Not the response I expected.. thank you very much Jamie! I greatly appreciate you giving me that link. At least with my nephew I know exactly what to expect when my son reaches that age. This is something every mother and or father has to deal with at some point when they have boys.
