Hey guys,

It seems like today has been a long time coming. I am so happy to report that Steve and I just had our Geoemyda spengleri produce a perfect little hatchling under my care. It is a special feeling that I will never forget. It is great, but even better because I got to share it with Steve and Ben, who really made it all possible.

Here is a pic. I will be getting a movie about it on to YouTube and theTurtleRoom.com by 2 PM tomorrow.

Thanks for looking,

Anthony

Thank you guys! Nice to have so many of you accomplished breeders looking at my egg hatch pics for once!

This was part of a two egg clutch, so the other is still incubating. I was surprised that this only took 73 days. My temps are considerably lower thn Ben's, and his usually take between 72 and 75 days. Maybe it has to do with the humidity, as long as it is warm enough for development. No idea.

Congrats Anthony and the turtle room. I agree with Ben. Love how those bullet eggs just pop right off.

Seriously. It was a fast hatch. I was going to leave it until morning, but when I was talking to Joe last night, he asked me why I wasn't checking them more. Naturally, after that I went right down and checked. Thats when i saw that he had come right out of the egg.

Ya know Anthony …I’m jealous of those aquatics shelled buddies…their hatch time is half of what the torts take. Maybe if I switched creatures it would be easier on my nerves :p

Congrads ... once again! .....

The first sign of having the few.. but critical.. parameters in balance is when they are happy and healthy enough to propagate!

You started with "good" healthy turtles.. kept them healthy.. created and maintained a well balanced environment.. and endured the incubation term!!!

Job well done to YA'LL
