Hi Everyone,

I have a 6 month old Ibera Greek Hatchling and I noticed he has a mildly flexible plastron. I think I read somewhere that this is normal in hatchlings but I can't remeber from where. My question is, if this is normal, how long before it should become rigid. If it isn't normal, please let me know what I need to do to hopefully correct the issue. He is otherwise doing well.

Thanks for your help.

It should have the consistency of pushing in the top a of a plastic container if so that is perfectly normal should be just a bit flexible to the touch
I am not sure when it should become rigid

Phew!! The plastron is exactly as you described it. I've never had a hatchling before so I'm a little paranoid. I really want him to do well.

Thanks so much for your quick response!

Normal to be flexible, what you don't want is it going softer
As for how long, that depends on diet and sunshine
