Have images to post - how do I do that?

It's DevilDogmom, Gail in AZ. I have images of the Elvis, the tortoise that needs rescue. I like to think I can upload images; I have done that in facebook but not here. I need some instructions. Any help would be very appreciated. I got a great shot of Elvis up close. I also took pics of his enclosure. How small do they need to be and do I use a program like Picasso to upload? So confused. I do not have a child at home to help me.
