Hi all I have a 3.5 year old sulcata who I am currently building a new outdoor enclosure for which consists of a 7x5 shed (fully insulated) with access to a green house and large outdoor grassy area
We are located in the uk so for a month or two (weather permitting ) he will be inside

My question is what are people’s recommendations for heating and uv light ?

For outside in the shed, I use a pig blanket on the floor (Stansfield's heat mat) and a 250 watt brooder lamp hanging from the ceiling, and it's about 3' above the tortoise's back. Many people have night boxes inside the shed with a radiant heat panel inside the night box, and an oil filled radiator type electric heater in the shed. As long as the tortoise is able to get real sun for three or four hours a week, you won't need a UVB light, but if there's no sun, you can use a T-5 tube type fluorescent UVB light.
