Hello - Noob here if you haven't seen some of my other post. If I need to run on some errands during the day, is it safe to leave my heat lamp on while I'm not home?? I figure its best for the tortoise to leave it and but my insides are saying DANGER!

It should be mounted securely, and you should have set and double checked the basking temp under it, and then yes, it should stay on. Mine are all set on timers. I leave them on for about 12 hours a day, even when I'm not home.

I've found that the clamps attached to the lamps are usually insufficient so I end up using an additional stronger clamp. Better safe than sorry!
