Our winters get wayyyy too cold up here to have my torts out, so I havent ever used a pig blanket or the other.
Ive been tossing the idea of making a heated sleep box for spring and fall for the cooler nights.

You cannot use Heat Pads, nor Heat Mats for tortoises, they can easily burn themselves.

During night time you can buy a ceramic heater, that fits in like a light bulb.
Otherwise you stick with normal heat light and uv light.

I agree with you T-P.My torts have ceramic tubular heaters set on a thermostat should the temps drop below 10 degrees.Heat mats can cause torts to dehydrate.Not worth the risk.
