Heat sources for power outages?

As an expectant tort mom, I am trying to prepare in all ways for my future babies. One of the things I'm wanting to find out about is how to keep torts warm when there are power outages during the winter.

Besides a generator, which would be the best, but expensive, lot of members keep the hand warmers on hand for these type situations.
