My name Is Marcelo and I have a male and a female Sulcata both about 20 yers old.
Three days ago we got our first batch of eggs and I was wondering is anyone has some good advice to share, such as best temperature, humidity, lighting, egg spacing inside incubator, egg positioning, etc.

Thank you very much!

Bests,

Marcelo B.

Good luck with your eggs! Of course, we all would love to see pictures of your Sully, eggs, your set-up, etc.

Welcome!

welcome,! how exciting to have eggs, how many are there? Did she lay them in a hole and you dug them up or what? I don't have an answer to your questions but someone will. I hatched mud turtle eggs last year and then turned the babies loose in our pond near where they were laid.

Hello and welcome.

Before I tell you how to care for the eggs and hatchlings, please allow me to tell you that most of the sources you find will give you old, out-dated and incorrect info. We've been doing this species, and other species too, wrong for decades, and most of the tortoise world still hasn't caught one. Things are slowly changing for the better, but there is still a long way to go. Incorrect assumption were made about where this species comes from and how they live in the wild, and the wrong care info has now been passed down for generations. It is a hard cycle to break, but we are trying.

Here is the thread detailing egg and hatchling care:
