My name is Alan, I currently have a leopard tortoise named Echo, and a Sulcata tortoise named Clara. The Leo is about two months, and the Sulcata is three months.

My goal is to become a breeder in the future with leopard, pancake, Indian star, Burmese star, Radiated, And Galapagos tortoises. All this while running a local reptile store where I can share my passion for tortoises, while educating how to care for captive bred reptiles of the world. There are plenty of dog and cat breeders, we need more reptiles!! :)

All ideas are welcome!

A very warm welcome to the forum! :tort:

Please read the "Beginners Mistake" Thread and different care sheets, which will definitely help you. Do not hesitate to ask any question. :D

Any pics of the enclosure(s)? ;)

Hello, Alan, and a very warm welcome to Tortoise Forum to you, Echo and Clara.
It looks like your tortoises are in the same enclosure ?
I hope this is not the case, as keeping a pair of tortoises together, even of the same species, is a recipe for disaster and two different species , even more so, as apart from the bullying and competition, there is a risk of the spreading of disease, parasites etc. where sometimes one species is immune to a pathogen it carries and the other is not.
Please look at http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/beginner-mistakes.45180/
and http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/for-those-who-have-a-young-sulcata.76744/

A lot to read and take in, I know, but essential information to keep your tortoises happy and healthy.
Good luck:)

Thanks to all for your replies.
Both Echo and Clara were together for only two weeks in the same enclosure as Clara was getting picked up by her owner. Her owner didn't live near me, so I made sure I provided enough food, and enough observation as to not let them stress each other out. Especially Echo my Leopard. Since I didn't have another enclosure at the time (UVB/Heat/space) I just made sure they were doing good.
My uncle is a Vet, and specializes in Herps, so he made sure my baby Echo was good after Clara was taken by her owner. Needless to say, that will never happen again.
