Hi all
As I brief introduction. My name is Joseph, I live in Surrey England and have a Spur Thigh Tortoise named Rod.
Rod was given to me by my uncle some 40 years ago when I was a very young boy. He has lived in my parents garden since then, with the occasional break out into neighbours gardens, and once found about 500 yards away on his great escape day. Word of mouth around the neighbourhood traced him to us and he was back home again within a day.
I have been out of the family home for many years now, but Rod remained as that was his home, and I was moving around too much to take him with me.
Now my parents are getting on in years and finding the responsibility difficult, and I am settled with a garden, and this weekend I have brought him to live with me.
I have hopefully given him a good outdoor space, in fact he has one third of the back yard all to himself. This said there is not the same amount of direct sun as in my parents garden and I would welcome recommendations and advice for any external sun and heat solutions that any of the forum members may be able to advise on.
