OOOooohhh, a new Russian...my favorite (except for my own exceptional Chaco Taco of course)! ;)

Are you adopting from a rescue organization or buying from a pet store? You'll need to read some of the care threads for Russians in the "Regarding Russians" section, also "Enclosures" and "Food and Diet" will help you get a nice set-up prepared to welcome your new pet. :p

http://tortoiseforum.org/thread-13922.html , http://tortoiseforum.org/thread-13794.html, are a couple of recent threads that have nice posts about Russian care.

And don't forget! http://tortoiseforum.org/thread-5245.html to post some photos of your new torty bundle when she arrives! :D

Welcome. Try to find a captive bred one. In the long run, it will be worth the extra time and effort for you.

Welcome. I agree with Tom, there are plenty of very healthy, hardy, strong, worm-free, able to hibernate Russian tortoises that are captively bred. You should look into one of those. You can easily find that at tortoise and reptile conventions, craigslist, or kingsnake.com.
